style

Low-maintenance isn't synonymous with no-maintenance. I was interchanging the two for too many years.  From hair, jewelry, and accessories, to this new found love for quality makeup and a like-wise decent wardrobe, it's time to indulge a little. I'll show you what I'm currently loving, things I have my eye on, and products I'd recommend based on personal experience.  Everyone deserves to look as good as they feel, including myself.

One...In my last style post, I shared my current obsession with the sterling silver jewelry artist Nikki Hills Design.  Well, for reasons that I honestly cannot comprehend involving how this fan-dangled internet works, she magically contacted me to say thanks for her feature spotlight in my blog!  I'm honored that she personally reached out... so cool!   A few days went by, and another email popped up asking for my address because she wished to thank me further with a small gift. HUGE smile. How thoughtful is she, right!?!

I ordered a stackable style bracelet [to start my obvious future collection of pieces], and once it arrived, I also found these stunning earrings with a handmade note.  Um... LOVE. Love. The bracelet, by the way, has not left my wrist, except for the photo op. THANK YOU, Nikki!
Two...the need for glasses is now a part of my life.
I have exceptional vision- 20/15 (extra credit!), but the muscles surrounding my eyeballs don't like to do their job correctly, which makes them very tired at the end of a work day.  I've had this problem my whole life, but was never offered a crutch [i.e. glasses] because of my young age and my daily routine didn't demand endless hours in front of a screen or looking at forms with the tiniest size font.  When you open your eyes, your eyeballs should normally want to look straight ahead.  Well, mine naturally want to look slightly to the sides. So when I need to look at anything, I have to work those muscles harder to bring my eyes straight forward- and when I need them to converge to read, for example, I'm actually working extra extra hard... best way I can describe it.  So these glasses are primarily prism lenses to bring them into position without ME having to work as hard.  I've only had them a few days now, but I'm enjoying the relief they give!  I was so torn with the decision to purchase these frames because of the purple color pop, but am glad that I took the leap.  I've received many compliments on them already.  [Except for my son.  Jay does not think Mama's new glasses are pretty. Sigh].
